Battlefield Hardline

' How is your mother... Nick ? '
Before we talk about Battlefield Hardline I would like to appreciate the risk EA and DICE took with this game. It is radically different from it's past predecessors, in fact it is no where close to anything Battlefield we have known till now. Hats off to you guys. An amazing diversion from the usual and it very much lives up to the hype.
This is an all out cop story, we got arrests, drugs, saucy policemen and of course the classic stab in the back. It is not everyday you get be a cop, that too a good one in Miami. A man who lives by the code, does have some grey spots in him but doesn't let that dissuade him from doing good. Yes Nicholas Gonzalez as Nicholas Mendoza does such a convincing job of it. The control of Miami cash flow is down to a brutal drug war between various cartels, one officer tries to find the source of this and ends up biting off more than he could ever chew. A star ensemble cast, from Kelly Hu, Alexandra Daddario to Brian Bloom and Benito Martinez. These guys have pulled off such an awesome performance I mean wow the whole ride felt like a Hollywood blockbuster movie thanks to motion capture, top notch cinematic experience.
Frostbite 3 has rendered the graphics with such a strong emphasis on the environment, how we interact with it, being able to destroy walls, drive cars to tanks and much more. EA knows how to make it's games look awesome. Now back to the most important aspect of the game, story. Thankfully Hardline features such an amazing story with great plot twists and top notch dialogues, believe it or not these people have given a lot of thought into what the characters talk. Great job. Next off is music, top notch stuff if there is one reason I would play Battlefield Hardline again it would be thanks to the music. God such amazing beats, clear and crisp audio and most of all that awesome hardline theme, been hearing it all day.
Finally, weapons here is an area I did feel a bit missed out, yes I do understand cops can't get military grade weapons but yes compared to previous battlefield games the weapons here are definitely trimmed down. Which brings us to the most important question how good is this game. To be perfectly honest this is one of the best games of next gen. I mean EA have pulled off something amazing by taking the battlefield genre to the cop and criminals story line but is it really a battlefield game ? People have long associated Battlefield and Call Of Duty with war like scenarios and First person shooters. Stripping off one is hard enough, but to give us the option to complete the game in stealth make arrests and not kill anyone at all.
Well I swear had they labeled this game any other way and sold it, given it any other name it would have sold so much more. Battlefield is a genre that is defined by warfare, to sway it away from something like that requires a lot of guts and a whole lot of determination. At least with top notch multiplayer including 3 expansions to complement the game with it's hardly complaining. EA might have pulled it off but not sure if it will work a second time.
Final Verdict : Battlefield Hardline is a great cop game with amazing story, engrossing characters, rich music and great gameplay, it isn't your regular battlefield, it's different and it's for the better ^_^
