' We are The Division...We are all that is left. '
When a company especially someone like Ubisoft wants to make a massive online multiplayer game, inspired by what Bungie achieved with the Destiny they will have to understand the kind of effort that company has put in to not just make the game but polish it, rid it of bugs and give the players an amazing experience.
Enter The division, ubisoft's first foray into MMORPG, the division is everything the company promised us. It has amazing visuals, great story, intense combat and excellent multiplayer system so what actually is the fuzz you ask. Well having all these ain't enough to maintain them , to properly execute them and to make sure the end result is satisfying is what is more important. Ubisoft has failed so miserably in this endevour. I am sorry for the harsh words but The division had such high hopes for me everything looked promising but the glitches are game breaking. Doesn't Ubisoft have a quality testing department at all ? Why sell a game half made and even after about 4 months the glitches are ever persistent. When I think of division I am not reminded of the hours I had fun playing solo, the amazing inventory system and the kickass weapons all I am reminded of is how I tried to shoot at my enemy and the bullets simply wouldn't register because of a lag. The sad part about the game is that all these amazing ideas never fully see the light thanks to the horrendous bugs I was forced to contend with. For a game I actually loved playing it took me nearly 4 months to complete it. Far too many glitches, lag and crazy AI in general kept me away from it long enough. When I finally did complete instead of satisfaction all I felt was disappointment.
Back to what the game actually is about. A virus outbreak occurs and New York is quarantined. The military are unable to control the spread and so they request the Spec Ops and they get the Division infact they get the first wave and something terrible happens to them so the second wave is sent out to investigate what happened and help take the city back which we are a part of. Character customization in terms of appearance is minimalist when it comes to choosing a face but beyond that from the attire including a top, pants and shades along with 3 tier armor customization we got it all. So many varieties so many amazing choices to make your agent look badass. Next off is weapons from assault rifles, to shot guns, hand canons and rocket launchers we got the entire arsenal, the only thing though make sure your internet connection is strong else no use firing that thing.
Armor is also split into 3 parts consisting of elbow pads, knee pads and body armor. You are given a base of operations and an entire city full of problems, although the quests are very much repetitive the enemy leveling and different landscapes make the stages enjoyable, one thing about the division is that the multiplayer is never forced, inspite of it being an all out multiplayer game a solo campaign is equally good, infact more fun when you love single player games so hats off to ubisoft for that. The rikers a gang of street thugs who make use of the chaos to take control and the second order, all of them out to ruin your day.
Finally comes the Dark Zone, a quarantined area within new york where the virus spread is the most. This is where the exotics drop as much as you are liable to get shot by another player so are you liable to get super rare merchandise. Simply put the lure of the good stuff sure makes you want to visit this place over and over again.
Final Verdict : The Division is an amazing concept poorly executed out for redemption. Like many Ubisoft titles before it was bugged and glitched to the extent of complete withdrawal. Thank you Ubisoft for screwing up this game and still making me come back to it over and over again, better luck making the next one bug free. Despite all this I am still looking forward to the new DLC's. I haven't lost hope.....yet.
