Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition

" In War, Victory. In Peace, Vigilance. In Death, Sacrifice."
I have never really known the meaning of the world RPG, atleast not until I played DragonAge Origins. Well Mass Effect was more of an action sci-fi movie but don't get me wrong it was pretty awesome. Well to quench my thirst fora proper Role Playing Game came along DragonAge Origins. From the very moment you strat playing the game you know one thing for certain, the world around you is constanly changing and you are playing an active part in shaping it for the better or worse. The hero's lack of voice was a bit off for me but getting to understand all the content and dialogue involved in the game and the minimal budget at which it was being made I certainly can forgive that. Well getting back to the game, it is one of the finest works by Bioware who as we all know were the creators of he famed Bauldr's gate series. If anyone would truly want to experience a full blown RPG in all it's greatness then this is your chance.
The game kicks off with a initial story which decides as to which of the 6 different origin stories you get to play, it also decides as to how characters throughout the game are gonna interact with you and truth be told Bioware has taken the extra effort to make characters remind us of who we actually are. That said the game follows the story of an order known as the Grey Wardens who rise among the ranks of common men and women to fight the Blight, a war waged by creatures known as Darkspawn. Everytime they find an old god the creatures taint it and that becomes the Archdemon and slaying it is the only way to stop the blight. You as the last of the grey wardens left must bring together an army to face the impending Blight. That just about summarises the plot but the fun, action and story is far from being revealed.
Speaking of action the game mechanics are pretty similar to usual RPG games with full customisation of armour, weapons and even talents and attributes of every single companion. Tweaking has been done to make sure the gameplay is enjoyable with multiple variations across the talent pool available and all of it accessible through a rotating drop down circle. That said the game is filled with witty humor, fun and the occasional mash ups are available as banters between companions. Romance is also another feature in-game where the player gets to romance a single or multiple party members of either gender. From Morrigan to Leliana and from Alistar to Zevran the options are quite exquisite. Romance with NPC's is also possible though the depth for a companion romance is far great with us being able to woe them with coercion and gift. Depending on their affinity towards you they react differently to different circumstances. Some may side with you or even try to fight you if their rivalry is higher towards you. That said the affinity system is one of the greatest assests to DragonAge Origins.
The game also features several DLC's all of it available as a standalone or in a bundle called 'DragonAge Origins Ultimate Edition'. The DLC's included in the ultimate edition would be Awakening, Stone Prisioner, Return To Ostagar, The Darkspawn Chronicles, Leliana's Song, The Goelms Of Amgarrak and the Witch Hunt. Each of these feature separate story lines where the play can import a character from his origins playthrough or begin a new. Awakening in particular focuses on the aftermath of the Fifth Blight and is one of the most Epic story based DLC's ever created.
The Final Verdict, DragonAge Origins makes it's mark on history as being the most prominent and promising face of a Role Playing Game for years to come.
