Red Dead Redemption 2

" One more big score Arthur, that is all we need....... "

If someone were to ask me what is the greatest gaming company ever, I wouldn't hesitate for a second with my answer, 'Rockstar' for I have been lucky enough to play some of the best games made by them.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is a tale of survival. The story revolves around Arthur Morgan an outlaw who is trying to escape his past while trying to make a name for himself in the dying world west. A man who has flaws stuck in place due to his own actions and deeply affects all those around him. While the original red dead was a empty and lonely, red dead 2 is a family affair. From Dutch, to Hosey, saddie, mary, charles and mica each of them have a personality, their own ambitions and are as much invested in this world as you are. A rare feat accomplished thanks to such brilliant voice acting. Every character has been etched to perfection that when you are done playing you are bound to remember them for a long time after. Exploring each of their conflicts among themselves and with the world around them are the moments where red dead truly shines.
The 90 second rule, a rule that has forever been the holy grail of gaming. Something red dead also follows is to keep the player engaged. Every 90 seconds something happens in the world that make the players react to it. You never lose interest in the journey and are still investing and wanting more 60 hours later. Be it fishing or killing bandits red dead has a good dose of all of it and even more to keep the player hooked and curious as to what they would find next.
The gameplay is similar to previous red dead games, only more polished, the dead eye makes a return and everything about your character feels more personal. from the way he moves, to every shot he takes everything has a wait, an impact and a consequence in this game. The morality meter keeps track of them all and helps chart out who arthur morgan truly is and what the game world and us would remember him for. Some chores like looting or even horse riding might feel a bit monotonous but all of it is in place to drive home the point that realism is what rockstar has been aiming to achieve and that they did. The music is fantastic, gripping in shootouts and soothing in quiet walks. The music blends seamlessly with the world rockstar has created. Red Dead Online launched a month later and does a lot of things right when it comes to online co-op play. From it's economy to simply having fun the online moment to moment gameplay shines better with friends.
Final Verdict: Brilliant Story, breadth taking visuals and over the top action, possibly my Game Of The Year.
(P.S: In this modern age where games are half finished, filled with micro transactions, lack single player content, do not respect the time you invest into something. In the middle of all these games is Red Dead Redemption 2. A game made by a company whose sole focus is to entertain, to absorb you into this brilliant world they have created, to get you invested into the characters , to make you connect emotionally to the story and the impact of your actions. Red Dead Redemption 2 achieves all this and even more. From the open sequence all the way to the very end, rockstar never compromised, they never gave up, this game is a result of that. Thank you <3)

Marvel's Spider-Man

                                                 ' Spider-Cop to the Rescue........... '
Okay well it's been a long time since I did one of these. Very rarely there comes along a game that makes you want to write down everything you feel as you watch the end credits roll.
What insomniac have achieved with this game is nothing short of spectacular. From the very beginning the way each of the characters are introduced to us, the premise of the story, the amazing voice acting and facial capture and the top notch music all of this elevate this game to a point of brilliance like none other.
This is one of the best peter parker games ever made and that is the biggest compliment I can ever give to this wonderful piece of work. The game play is top notch, the web swinging feels so fluid and dynamic, spider man iteracts with the city like never before and as you level up you see his strength and speed get better. So many suits, wow and a direct no nonsense way to earn all of them. Be it gadgets/skills spidey isn't short of anything to work towards. So many different things to do in the city from catching pigeons to storming gang hideouts it's all there, masterfully executed and brilliant placed. The game opens up the more you play it. A host of villains from the Marvel universe return from shocker to scorpion and everyone in between along with a few surprising ones. Every villian has a personality, a unique boss fight and a really good backstory to give what they do some traction. Makes fighting them even more fun and engaging.
Mary Jane watson, my biggest Marvel crush to date. Be it her voice acting, her sequences with spidey or the role she plays throughout the game just muah <3 :D thank you a million times haven't fallen in love with an off screen character in sometime guess that changes now !!
speaking of which miles morales daaam bro I dinot expect his story to be so good so interwoven with pete's tale and the moment to moment game play with him is always so much tense and fun. The highlight to me is the spidey and MJ combo mission where we get to be MJ and clear out a room full of badguys helping spidey pick targets.
Martin Lee has been phenomenal too. You know you get that vibe where some enemies are just shoved at you for the sake of it nope not even a single one, I think Martin had such a good backstroy and some amazing twists to his tale that made you sympathize with him as much as you wanted to beat him, To top it all that Stan Lee cameo was top notch stuff. A brilliant game with a nail biting conclusion that makes you wanting more. Can't wait ^_^
Final Verdict: Thank you Insomniac Games I have never felt more proud to call myself a Spider man and a PlayStation fan !!

God Of War

" There's nowhere you can hide, Spartan. Put as much distance between you and the truth as you want, it changes nothing. Pretend to be everything you are not: teacher, husband, father. But there is one unavoidable truth you will never escape: You cannot change. You will always be a monster "
' I know. But I am your monster no longer '

Where do I even begin. I have been playing video games for well over 15 years now. I have played every genre of game and there really isn't a game that has made me go wow for some time now, the last that happened was with the Witcher 3. But this game, oh my god, God Of war, what Sant Monica have achieved with this game is phenomenal. They made me go into frenzy, become sad, feel love, appreciate friendship and even taught me to be humble. All of these emotions packed into one huge action adventure game that never takes the camera away from you.
They are no loading screens, no QTEs, nothing that were part of the previous god of wars made into this, instead what we have is a complete reboot of the series, Despite continuing the story the game flips over everything else you know about the game, with a new premise where you are tasked with carrying you wife's ashes to the highest peak in all realms. What begins as a journey of grief quickly evolves into a complex plot that all but encompasses you into a lore rich, character driven Norse mythology that leaves no stone unturned.   In the 40 plus hours I spent playing though the game I have watched Kratos and Atreus's bond grow together though some beautiful moments and some rough patches, Borok and Sindri the dwarven brothers who are angry at one another at first but slowly begin to show care and compassion for each other

and Mimir (the talking head) providing some much needed comic relief and all the amazing stories that he tells us, Santa monica have put in so much effort to get the lore right, there is so much depth to every story told and every secret found. We are in a constant search for runes, artifacts, upgrades that continue to give us an edge over our enemies, Starting with the Leviathan axe and quickly unlocking the blades of Chaos gives a much needed variety to combat and god have they nailed it.
The movement and combat flow is stupendous with some breathtaking boos fights, the scale that is so dear to god of war still exists in all it's grandeur. There is a deep learning curve to how each skill works, you could simply hack your way through most of the game but learning the skills would give you a serious advantage over the enemies, strategy always pays off and it gets more and more complicated when traps and puzzles play into how you survive.
The graphics are amazing, beautiful environments with vivid colors and with 4K HDR support on the PS4Pro God Of War is truly one of the most beatuiful looking games on the PlayStation right now. The music, maker's breadth hats off to the composer for giving such a rich and unnerving music to every moment in this game. Each point, every scenario has been carefully handcrafted to perfection. Like a beautiful statue chiseled out of rock this game has been given life, meaning, purpose and grandeur by the likes of which I have never seen before in a game.
Final Verdict: Cory Barlog and everyone at Santa Monica deserves all the praise for they have recreated the god of war magic and have made Kratos the face of PlayStation for years to come ^_^

Far Cry 5

" God Will Never Let You Take Me - Joseph Seed "

The most insane mind blowing crazy action adventure game is what Far Cry 5 is. Far Cry has come a long way from it's time as a game where we go around clearing maps to get to see more of the world, gone are the days where you hunt animals to create craft bags, far cry 5 instead has become the best version of an open world game, rather than force you to uncover more, the game itself unravels into what is a beautiful lived in meaningful open world. The series has now become synonymous to what every new iteration to a franchise, every new game must bring to the front.
Every quest is an addition to your end game. Every action has a consequence, every milestone an accomplishment. The whole of this world is divided into 3 regions, Each controlled by one of the seed siblings each charismatic and crazy in their own twisted way. The antagonist is the charismatic Joseph seed the crazy cult father and the head of the seed family. The map is littered with activities such as cult outpost, amazing side quests that help you get great companions, races where you get to do insane stuff in a plane and pepper stashes.
Let's not forget pepper stashes, they are amazing mini games where you uncover a way to find a hidden stash that gives you money and perk points. Speaking of perk points the perk system has been created in such a way that there is a steady flow of progress and that every upgrade makes you more of a badass to deal with. From being able to carry more ammo to having an extra companion the perk points covers it all and acts as the progression system for the game. Far Cry arcade is also a wonderful addition where players get to enjoy maps created by others and the more time you spend the more perk points you get to use in the main game.
A wide variety of vehicles and weapons keep combat interesting and engaging. Although I do miss the overpowered signature weapons from Far Cry 4. The Seed family is the embodiment of what a company can achieve if give the right time and opportunity. Such brilliantly written characters, charismatic villains and amazing boss fights. Ubisoft have crafted a masterpiece and have delivered on the promise of true open world. Thank you, much Love.
Final Verdict : Bang Bang !! Far Cry is back in business, We have a Game of The Year contender here ^_^

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy

" And that's what I get for being Honest.... "
Uncharted where do I begin. A series that I have grown with, the first time I was wowed by a game, the first time I felt oh man this is something else that was when I played the opening sequence of Uncharted 2 honor among thieves. One of the biggest PlayStation sellers to me was Uncharted.
Despite my initial skepticism about lost legacy not being a full fledged game, sold at half the price of uncharted 4, regular cliche's aside I believe uncharted lost legacy is a game that is both a great third person shooter and a solid entry into the franchise. Chole Frazer one of the major characters in the series and a love interest (sort of) to nathan drake.
To have her own story told in all it's grandeur with claudia black playing such an amazing role with naidine ross along for the ride. Both of them go in search of a ganesh tusk but get caught up against a smuggling group bent upon getting it back. The combat, gameplay and graphics are all what we have come to expect but what is new is the pacing of the game itself. Being condensed into 10 chapters the game is short, crisp and nail biting especially the last three chapters.
We get to know a lot about both chole and naidine, how we perceived each of them and who they really are. I fell in love with these characters and it's wonderful to see them get their share of  screen time. The story can be predictable at times but the huge action set pieces more than make up for it. The music is top notch and Naughty Dog has gone the extra mile to do justice to both the locations and the atmosphere.
I personally love the amazing tributes to hindu mythology, it was both refreshing and amazing to see the level of detail that is rarely seen even in these AAA games. A personal thank you to naughty dog for that. Multiplayer is very much similar to uncharted 4 and is as fun as ever. There are also a few surprises that made me smile with glee.
Final verdict : Uncharted The Lost Legacy is a beautiful tribute to characters we have come to love in the uncharted universe. A letter of love from Naughty Dog.

Call Of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered

" Right...what the hell kind of name is "Soap", eh? How'd a muppet like you pass selection? "

When nostalgia hits you like a wave you ought to sail it. Do not let it overwhelm you. A saying that bears fruit as I begin to live this experience as a game. Fire Person Shooters defined the gaming industry in the 2000's and modern warfare was the first true attempt at a futuristic setting for a shooter, countless other games followed suit but this was the grand daddy of them all.
You are soap, a novice who starts out in the british military service under captain price right as a civil war breaks out in russia. several parallel stories overlap and each have their own consequences. while not going into the story Call of duty modern warfare was a game that let go of the world war setting, a game that pushed boundaries and took real world problems and incorporated them into the game. The invasion of an oil rich country , the execution of the president, the brilliant and amazingly written story that weaves a plot around all these and to top it all current gen weapons. It took a lot of planning and execution to get this game right and activision's bold but new studio infinity ward was yet unproven.
The game incorporates several new features from squad based gameplay that takes place in parallel timeline. A new multiplayer component that rewards players with kill streaks. The ability to drive next gen vehicles, new weapons. god the assult rifles took form and shape from games like these. The amazing voice actors, from price to yuri and everyone inbetween it was truly a joy ride to listen to all of them, their accents, the humor, the emotions were all so well thought off, it felt authentic tips many companies could take even activision itself at making a good game. Lets also talk about the music in this game, to score for a game is hard work and to be part of a new revolution, something not tried before to make it sound fresh and not techo-ish, they have done such an incredible work.
Being a remastered version activision has gone the extra length to make a complete rehaul in terms of textures and frame rates. the game looks as good as any current gen game infact better than a few ;) . To port it to the current gen is in itself a monumental task to push that even further and give us this requires a lot of hard work. Thank you, we love you <3
Final Verdict : Thank you Activision for letting us experience this beauty of a game one mroe time, although making infinite warfare sell a bit more by bundling it with this game shows the value of both. Just putting it out there.....

Call of Duty Infinite warfare

                                                             ' Olympus must fall.......'
Every year we are treated to a new COD game, it's become quite customary , repetitive in many ways too but to keep things fresh Activision decided to rotate the franchise between 3 different game studios. In many ways Infinity ward is always the best of the lot, mostly because they reinvented COD with the modern warfare series. Their reputation precedes their work and this year is no different. Infinite Warfare is the latest entry into their franchise and people this year has been quite tough for both the company and the franchise for it has been under heavy scrutiny for focusing too much on advanced warfare. So under all this how does the game really stack up ? Let's dive right in :)
Like all wars this too has a back story a solid one at that, thanks to advances in space exploration the Earth's forces have expanded to nearly every planet in the solar system. But this hasn't all been smooth and a faction called the SDF has risen to fight against the injustice the governments have done and act as a voice for the people or so they claim. They have forgone Earth and everyone living in it and have decided that the only way to end this is to destroy both the UNSA and everything it stands for.
Admiral Salen Kotch ( Kit Harrington ) is the young general leading SDF into the assult against the Earth's Forces, he has done an amazing role, one that exuberates anger and fierceness. You are Captain Nick Reyes ( brian Bloom ), a young soldier who is forced to take command reluctantly and is put in charge of making decisions that will determine the fate of not just him but his crew and at a point the entire UNSA as well.  Brian bloom emotes effortlessly and the face capture makes it so realistic that you can see the struggle he is going through. hat's off to Infinity ward for taking the extra effort to cast such amazing people to make the story all the more engaging.
Be it Caludia Black, Jamie Gray Haider, Brian or Kit everyone has given it their best and it shows when the story needs to move forward and requires a strong performance to do so. Next off is the combat the movement and wall run have very much been enhanced to make gameplay fun but the real charm of infinite ware would be in the space battles, we are given a jet fighter called Jackal and trust me I have never had so much fun flying a jet, the space battles are truly grand, edge of the seat, adriline pumping and so much satisfying.
The variety of missions, the weapons available and the overall gameplay feels fresh thanks to this amazing addition. To call it slow by comparing it to another game wouldn't do justice to all the amazing effort the devs have put into this to make it feel so good. Next up is music, surprisingly the game features a pretty decent score, the bring the sense of awe or absolute sorrow the score matches aptly and does it with such eloquence that you fall it love with soon after. A consistent gameplay, nothing revolutionary but nothing that will put you at a discomfort, infinite warfare treads safe waters here.

Final Verdict : Call Of Duty Infinite Warfare is a bold statement that excellent gameplay and compelling characters can bring to life a solid yet tried story, Take a hint activision. Back to the roots it is.
