' Primary protocol : Uphold The Mission '
I have been a gamer for as long as I have known. In all this time of myself playing so many different games, there will be one special game that comes along once in a while, that game will redefine your entire thought process, it will forever change the way you look at games in general. In a way it will make you respect the game, it's maker and appreciate the effort they have put into making it. Titanfall 2 is one such game :) Respawn in it's attempt to bring the titanfall franchise to a bigger audience went about creating a single player campaign which in my opinion will be the single greatest FPS story in the gaming history.
When I make this claim not for a moment am I unsure that I am giving too much credit or I am simply writing this in the moment and I might not actually feel the same once the dust has settled. In fact I write that with pride that I as a gamer who has seen such inspiring stories come to life and the next gen lacking such finesse. A game that will make you wish those involved in it were real, the effort with which that world is created and the amount of detail in each and every little thing from the movement, the combat, the gameplay the characters, the back story and even the amazing looking environment.
Titanfall 2 put you in the shoes of pilot Jack cooper, a very talented young fellow who finds himself in the middle of a war he nexver expected himself to be and how he takes charge of his role and comes out with flying colors is what makes up the story, for genuine reasons I do not want to divulge more into the story for I do not want to spoil the premise for anyone reading it. That said I am going to talk about everything I love about titanfall 2. Let's start with the campaign mode, titanfall 1 didn't have a single player mode and was exclusive to xbox. Am glad Respawn took up the challenge to expand their base audience for it because of this that they went on to create something so unique.
The interactions you have in game be it with the Mech BT7274 or the enemies themselves all of it makes you feel personally for each and everyone of them be it anger or love. Thier is one mission in particular that made me think what a game can do to try and morally judge you to make you consider whether killing someone is always the only way out. I thank respawn for giving me that opportunity to jump around time ( literally speaking ) . That brings us to the second core foundation of Titanfall the gameplay mechanics, from simple movement to wall run, grapple hook, mech movement , mech combat and pilot gunplay, even the best part of the entire mechanic the melee system, everything in it is extremely fast and fluid. By fast I mean it would expect you to react naturally and not think. In a way the experience is so unique for no other game especially those that focus on futuristic gameplay combat have got it right including COD and Battlefield. Be it the variety of guns available or the mech upgrades each is so special and changes the way you play the game so very drastically that you are bound to take notice of it. It's just one of those things that make Titanfall 2 so much enjoyable.
The third would be the graphics I would defenitely want to talk about this one for when the BETA was announced one thing that really put me off was how the game looked I mean it is 2016 after all and we expect games to look good more than anything else, the visual appeal can never be discounted especially when it comes to FPS games, that said I am happy to say that the complete package looks great, the frame rate is pretty smooth and there is hardly any glitches worth mentioning. That takes us to the next part of what's awesome about titanfall and that would be it's score, It's been quite sometime since I heard a game score that would inspire me to play it the last I would say was DragonAge Inquisition. Be it the character voices or the in game music titanfall scores so well in so many ways.
And finally comes multiplayer, I say multiplayer as the final component to this great game because in a way this was the most established of the lot, this was already a successfully proved formula and all respawn had to do is to tweak those few little things and make it even better. That's exactly what they did , a lot of options available for those looking to do multiplayer, each unique and each adds value to an already amazing game. The grapple hook is the one extra feature that stands out since it isn't available in the single player campaign. Thank you Respawn, the game was your way of showing us how much you care and love your fans and this small review is my way of recpirocating that love.
Final Verdict : Titanfall 2 is what ever FPS game should dream to be, it caters to everyone and does it with such finesse that it makes you wonder what's next for us titans ^_^
