Uncharted 3 Drake's Deception

' Sic Parvis Magna......Greatness From Small Beginnings '
Uncharted, well this name means a lot of things to me, Uncharted 3 in particular was my first experience in trying something grand. The game was one of my first ones to play on the PlayStation 3, had so many good memories, to be able to revisit them, to smile and enjoy every moment along the way as Nathan Drake himself.... I simply couldn't have asked for more. The minor graphic improvements and quicker load times aside on the PS4, Drake's Deception is an amazing game in itself. My praise might be a bit biased simply because I still am in awe as everything the game has taken me through, thank you Naughty Dog.
Uncharted 3 takes you through the journey of Nathan Drake as he tries to uncover the secret behind the true motive behind a secret society who are bent upon finding the truth behind Sir Francis Drake's journey around the globe. As the game rolls on we are offered a variety of shades to Nathan's character, we get to know him better thanks t a brief flashback and his relationship with all these characters around him, each unique in shaping him to what he is today. Marlow the primary antagonist in the game heads the secret society and is desperate to find Drake's lost treasure.
Movement has received an overall upgrade thanks to the advancement in motion capture, from how Drake stands to how he reacts with is environment, it truly is a magnificent feat to achieve, one which Naughty Dog has done with such ease. Nathan's more human side is also show, he is scared, he is vulnerable and he does bleed, all this is what Nathan Drake is. Nolan North has not only given his voice but a very big part of Drake's character is modeled after him, his sarcasm, his attitude, it's all in there and Drake is a combination of all that. For the player to be able to relate to Drake, to pick him up when he falls, to keep trying and never give, that is where Naughty Dog finds true success.
The quality of music shows you the quality of the game, the music gives you a sense of awe and the minute detailing from the rustle of leaves to the crashing of waves there is a lot of passion in everything naughty dog does.Landscapes are grand, breadth taking and inspiring, the level of detail given to the environment is what makes a Naughty Dog game a treat to play. From dense jungles to lost tombs, Tilting ships to vast sand dunes, this game has it all. If you want to spend a few mins anywhere in the game to look around trust me you will not be dissapointed. have  I ever told you how awesome it is to fly an aeroplane, well it's even better to crash it, trust me :D !!!
Combat has seen a significant improvement, gun fighting especially cover based options including stealth are a welcome addition to the game. Hand to hand combat has branched out from the usual punching to quick timed counters and environmental usage to punish your enemies. A sequence in particular where we are to chase an enemy through a dense city with rooftops deserves praise, that is where I found my love for the Uncharted series find true meaning.
Drake's Deception is a gentle reminder that games can be used as a medium to convey powerful messages and the main crux of the game's theme is how man's selfishness brought the end of the world.... nearly.
Final Verdict : Uncharted 3 Drake's Deception is the best thing to happen to Naughty dog, it's a game that made people take notice of what games can truly do... Inspire ^_^
