The Launch Of PlayStation 4 and a New Era Of Games ... Let's not forget the old ones :).

All the excitement, the buzz and the hype that I see on the internet points to one specific event. The Launch of PlayStation 4. I still remember all those years back when I had got my hands on the PS3. To be precise , it was the time when Assassin's Creed Brotherhood had come out ( November 2010 )  and my computer was in no shape to play it, So I have a week's fight with my parents and they finally gave in and decide to buy it for me. It was nearly 10:00 pm when I finally got my console, I headed back home plugged it to my TV and started playing brotherhood , never slept that night. For the past 9 years I have played so many memorable games each with a tale of it's own , but there are also the ones which stand out above all. My PS2 was something which made me a game addict , Resident Evil 4 was the first game I felt had made an impact on my life. The shear thrill of playing it, the erry atmosphere and above all the awesome story made sure I turn into a game freak from a casual gamer someone who used to play Here Comes the Pain with my friends. With that said ,
Mass Effect 2 was the first time I ever played an Role Playing Game in my life. All the decisions I made throughout the game were life changing ones for it was only after that I understood that gaming wasn't just a form of entertainment but it also had the ability to shape a person's character.
A few more memorable games such as the Uncharted series & The much acclaimed Assassin's Creed series were all trendsetters and had made a huge impact on both myself and the gaming industry as a whole.

Also the Dead Space series were the first ones to invoke fear at such a subtle level. Nail biting sequences, excellent detail and the shear brilliance of these games' creators made sure my experiences would be something to cherish forever.

And the games which came out later such as the Crysis series showed how much graphics has evolved over the years. Dragonage Origins , Dragon's Dogma : Dark Arisen , Dishonoured , The Last Of Us and GTA V  each were unique in their gameplay and narrative and all of them were a treat to play.

The ability to impart stories through a visual medium and the extent to which it can affect a person's life is something that still intruiges me.

Coming back to the present day, Killzone ShadowFall and Knack loom large and are the first wave of games that are coming out along with initial release of the PS4. A long list of fantastic games are sure to follow. As I look at this excitement, a smile runs over my face for I know that I am not the only one who goes haywire on a console launch. At the company of my PS3 and a few more awesome games to play I hope to make the jump for PS4 by next year .
